Reverend Harris is a native of Greensboro, NC but has spent many years in the D.C. Metropolitan area. He is a graduate of Howard University and Howard University Law School. Reverend Harris also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Duke University.
Before his service in the ministry, Reverend Harris worked at several federal agencies including:
*THE U.S. WHITE HOUSE;
*NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD;
*CONSUMER PRODUCTS SAFETY COMMISSION;
*N.A.S.A.;
*DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR;
AND *NAVAL AIR SYSTEM COMMAND.
Reverend Harris later taught business law on the collegiate level at area universities including Salem College, and Winston-Salem State University. He has lectured on topics including diversity, anti-racism and homiletics.
Since entering the ministry more than twenty years ago he has preached in 28 states and 6 countries. His most recent appointment prior to Laughlin was with Brooks Temple United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem.
With all of his accomplishments, Reverend Harris believes the most important part of his biography is that he saved by the grace of God.
